Add Seasonal charm to your photos with these fall tips!

As the leaves begin to change, fall brings a colorful backdrop for wedding, engagement, and family photos. I wanted to share some photography tips and inspiration to make the most of this beautiful season.

Embrace the Colors of Fall

Autumn offers a stunning palette of deep reds, oranges, golds, and browns. When planning your wedding or engagement photoshoot, think about how your wardrobe and decor can complement these natural tones. Earthy colors like mustard yellow, maroon, forest green, and burnt orange work beautifully against the fall landscape. Even simple touches, like a bouquet with fall foliage or a cozy plaid blanket, can add warmth and personality to your photos.

Choose Scenic Locations

In autumn, nature does most of the decorating for you. When planning your shoot, choose locations that highlight the beauty of the season—whether it’s a local park with colorful trees, a forest with a carpet of fallen leaves, or even a rustic barn setting. The backdrop will do wonders in setting the tone for your photos.

Layer Up for Style and Warmth

As the weather cools, layering becomes key for both comfort and style. If you're shooting an engagement or family session outdoors, consider wearing cozy accessories like scarves, cardigans, and sweaters. Not only will this keep you warm, but it adds a stylish, seasonal look to your photos.

Tip: Avoid bulky jackets that might hide your outfit. Instead, opt for thinner layers that can easily be removed or rearranged during the shoot.

Shooting Inside is just as fun!

Fall can be unpredictable with occasional rain showers. But don't worry—rain can lead to some of the most enchanting, romantic photos! Come prepared with clear umbrellas (which photograph beautifully) or be open to having an indoor session. Coffee shops are perfect. Greenville, SC has plenty!

Hope you found these tips helpful for your next shoot!
